Send the same brief to everyone

A preliminary estimate is different from an agreed price for a defined scope. Ask how revised quantities, changed selections or additional work would be discussed and documented. The goal is to identify uncertainty before the project starts, not to assume that every possible situation is already included.
Compare the process as well as the number
Discuss access to the property, material availability and how project updates will be shared. Clarify whether a stated duration means active working days or an overall calendar window. Keep the scope, selected materials and agreed changes together in one project record. A clear comparison helps you understand what is being offered and which questions still need answers before you choose how to proceed.
